FASHION AND BRAND PROMOTION

Seeing as I took what seems like forever out of blogging and blamed it on my amount of uni work, I thought it was only fair to show what I've been up to for so long!

For my final Fashion and Brand Promotion brief, we were given an assesment project in which we were asked to create a front cover and a double page spread for an existing magazine of our choice (aswell as a whole load of research in a sketchbook too!) After much deliberation, I chose Cosmopolitan magazine and decided to create an interview type article for my double page spread because it's a magazine I read regularly and so I thought it'd be fairly easy to re-create. Although I wasn't 100% pleased with the final outcome due to the last bit of research being slightly rushed, I got a good mark and decided to stop being so critical!

Here it is! (The bad quality is due to a Photoshop file having to be changed to open on my laptop)

HAIR CHALK

I've really wanted to try this ever since Lauren Conrad stepped out with her chalked hair ages ago! I love that you can try lots of different colours all at the same time to create a rainbow look like in the first photo. Usually I'd be a bit apprehensive about messing with my hair but the fact that the chalk washes out means if it turns out to be a disaster I can hide all evidence of it straight away! Hair chalking is definitely on my summer 'to do' list! I'll try Kevin Murphy's 'Colour Bug,' these come in 3 colours, pink, purple and orange and are a bargain at £12.95!

CJG for Topshop

Unless you've been living under a rock, you will know that Chloe Green, former Made in Chelsea star and daughter of Topshop tycoon Philip Green launched her debut shoe collection 'CJG' for Topshop this week. The collection is a range of insanely high heels and wedges perfect for those with a super-glam lifestyle like that of Chloe's in MIC and each shoe in the capsule has been personally named by Chloe after members of her family, close friends and special people in her life. Her designs are finished off with a jade green sole, a spin on Christian Louboutin's iconic scarlet red soles which she openly admits is a nod to the man himself.

Here are my faves from CJG:
I adore the stud detail on these beauties! They instantly transform the candyfloss-pink peeptoe court shoes and add that extra edge making them so on trend for Spring/Summer teamed with a summer dress and biker jacket for the perfect mixture of rock-chick and pastel princess.  £115.
Possibly one of the more glam members of the CJG collection, these metallic gold 'Tiger Lily' Scoop Side Booties reflect Chloe's high end Made in Chelsea lifestyle and are the perfect all round heel for divas everywhere! £150.
Marginally more casual, but still CRAZILY high, these wedges are perfect for summer parties and would look amazing both glammed up with dresses and skirts as well as dressed down with jeans and blouses for a more chilled out look. £130.

CJG, which retails between £115 to £175 is available to buy online and from Topshop in Oxford Circus now.

DISCO PANTS

I've loved American Apparel's Disco Pants for ages, but it's seeming everyone has the black ones these days. I adore the red ones too, they're very Rihanna-esque but again, they're becoming a little too common so my new obsession is the 'Imperial Purple' ones. I NEED THEM IN MY LIFE. NOW?!

MASSIVE GIRL CRUSH

Gillian Zinser, give me your face, hair, body and clothes PLEASE?!
I apologise for my AWFUL (non existent) blogging of late, I had my last few assignments at uni to give in and I have been focusing on them for a while. Today I handed in my final one and I've now officially finished my first year! It's flown, and it's crazy to think I'm moving back to Stoke next week and my time living in halls is done! On the contrary to what I thought, I'm really sad about moving back home and everyone moving out is leaving me feeling really emotional as though it's the end of an era! (Even though I'll be back in a few months!) The end of uni has however left me with a huge amount of free time and I don't quite know what to do with myself already! Due to my very long, over exxagerated, drawn out break from blogging, I have sooooo much stuff to talk about, so I'll be back to normal ASAP!
